SAC Clubs and Groups
In Self-Access Centre, you can join clubs and come together with different student groups. There will be various clubs that would be temporarily-permanently formed which you can choose according to your needs.
The clubs that are planned to be opened are:
Speaking Club
Writing Club
Book Club
Movie Club
Role-play Club
And many more to come…
Speaking Club
In speaking club, we come together with students who have the same level of English, pick a topic that concerns each student, and discuss it. It is valuable for us to listen to everybody’s opinion and respect their views. The aim is to improve speaking skills and increase the confidence of students without being afraid while speaking. When traveling, going abroad for studying, and for academic purposes, this club will help you a lot.
Writing Club
In this club, the first thing will be to discuss the importance of writing. When the importance of writing is acknowledged, the process will continue through the needs of participants. Academic writing is a must for those who frequently write essays and articles which is necessary for further academic studies. Creative writing is another choice that can be preferred by students who want to enhance their imagination through writing fiction, poems, stories etc.
Book Club
Reading is the key to reinforcing vocabulary. Exposing yourself to the vocabulary and sentence order of a specific language will keep your memory fresh for words and sentence patterns. In book club, we generally pick a book for reading and discuss the things that attract our attention in the plot. There can also be simultaneous brief readings and discussing sessions as well. You can improve both your reading and speaking in this club.
Movie Club
Watching movies is one of the most enjoyable ways of learning a language. In this club, we will come together and watch the films that are chosen by the moderator of the club, and an analysis will be carried out in the end for those who want to comment on the plot or the best scene of the movie.
Role-play Club
Acting is a way to express yourself by using your gestures, facial expressions, and your body language. Doing role-plays in English will be a great chance to understand the needs and emotions of your own and others whilst interacting. Also, those who have stage fear can overcome through drama and role-plays that will be carried out in this club.
