Professional Development Seminar on speaking&writing assessment and effective use of coursebook
A seminar was held on September 6, 2019 under the direction of Steve O'Farrell on the use of the Focus textbook series and assessment of speaking / writing skills.
The first session was held with the participation of all teaching staff. In this session, how to use the coursebook and its supportive materials effectively were discussed with useful tips and sample activities.
The seminar on assessment was held with the participation of testing & assessment unit, standardization unit and head of department members. During this session, basics of assessment procedures were reviewed, SFL assessment tools and rubrics were examined and alternative useful applications were suggested to improve the quality of assessment of speaking and writing skills.
