End-of-Fall Semester Academic General Assembly Meeting for the 2025–2026 Academic Year

The End-of-Fall Semester Academic General Assembly Meeting of the Karabük University School of Foreign Languages for the 2025–2026 Academic Year was held on January 14, 2026, under the chairmanship of the Director of the School of Foreign Languages, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa POLAT. The meeting was attended by the school administration and all academic staff.

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa POLAT stated that the second period of the 2025–2026 Academic Year had been successfully completed and thanked all academic staff for their devoted efforts in both academic and administrative processes. Emphasizing the importance of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education and training, Dr. POLAT underlined that institutional success can only be sustained through a shared sense of responsibility.



Following the opening remarks, the current status of assessment and evaluation processes was discussed. It was stated that the evaluation process of the writing exams was nearing completion, that most of the assessments had been finalized, and that the announcement of exam results was planned in the near future. The importance of maintaining a transparent and reliable assessment process was emphasized, and academic staff were reminded to show utmost care throughout the procedures.

Academic incentive activities were also among the agenda items. It was noted that the scientific publications and project activities of academic staff make a significant contribution to the university’s academic visibility, and that increasing the number of academic incentive applications is among the primary goals. In this context, information was shared about the ongoing efforts to support academic productivity.

In addition, information was provided about the SOSYALFEST event to be held in 2026. It was emphasized that the event would offer important social, cultural, and academic contributions for both students and academic staff, and the importance of active participation by all units was highlighted.

Information was also given regarding leave procedures during the mid-term break period. It was emphasized that leave requests should be carried out within a proper planning framework and that academic staff should strictly comply with procedural requirements in order to prevent any disruptions in administrative operations.

Within the scope of technical infrastructure improvements, it was announced that the maintenance, repair, and renewal works of all projection devices had been completed and that long-used computers had been replaced with new ones. It was stated that these improvements would directly contribute to the quality of education and training activities.



Important reminders were made regarding duties and responsibilities in examination processes. Academic staff were reminded of the necessity of ensuring the proper functioning of examination control mechanisms, entering grades and attendance records on time, starting classes punctually, avoiding mobile phone use during exams, and refraining from engaging in any other activity while the exam is in progress. It was emphasized that such practices are contrary to the nature of examinations and the principles of assessment and evaluation.

The cleanliness of common areas and academic staff offices, as well as physical conditions of the school, were also discussed. Academic staff were encouraged to share their opinions and suggestions with the administration regarding any shortcomings or areas in need of improvement.

The meeting also addressed delays experienced in form and survey processes, and it was stressed that timely participation in such institutional procedures is of great importance for administrative efficiency.

Information was provided on applications submitted through CİMER and RİMER, processes involving senior management, and administrative sanctions. It was emphasized that all procedures should be carried out meticulously within the framework of institutional representation and responsibility.

The meeting concluded with the collection of opinions and suggestions from the academic staff. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa POLAT thanked all participants and officially closed the meeting.
