Academic Collaboration Between CTU Argao and Karabuk University

Academics Dr. Fitzgerald Kintanar, Dean of the College of Education, and Dr. Luiscel Teofi Cabico from the Cebu Technological University (CTU) Argao Campus visited Karabük University as part of their academic engagement program. During their stay, they delivered a seminar titled “Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Outcomes-Based Teaching and Learning (OBTL): Integrating Instruction, Assessment, and Learning Outcomes.” The seminar, which addressed instructional design, quality assurance, and assessment processes from a holistic perspective, attracted significant interest from the university’s academic staff.
Following the seminar, the visiting academics paid a courtesy visit to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa POLAT, Director of the School of Foreign Languages at Karabük University. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Kürşat ARSLAN, Deputy Director of the School of Foreign Languages, and Dr. Okan DEDE, Vice Chair of the Department.
During the meeting, the parties engaged in an extensive exchange of ideas on quality assurance in language teaching, curriculum development approaches, learning-outcome-based instructional models, and current global trends in foreign language education. In addition, potential avenues for collaborative research projects, joint publications, academic mobility programs, and long-term sustainable partnerships between the two institutions were discussed.

At the conclusion of the visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa POLAT presented the guests with a copy of the book “Artificial Intelligence in Foreign Language Teaching,” edited by Dr. Polat and authored by the academic staff of the School of Foreign Languages.
The growing academic cooperation between CTU Argao and Karabük University is expected to contribute significantly to the internationalization efforts of both institutions and to pave the way for future joint teaching, research, and mobility initiatives.
