The Academic General Assembly Meeting for the Fall Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year Was Held
The Academic General Assembly Meeting of Karabük University, School of Foreign Languages for the Fall Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year was held on September 12, 2025.

The meeting was chaired by the Vice Directors of the School, Lecturer Dr. Kürşat ARSLAN and Lecturer Hüseyin ATASEVEN, with the participation of deputy heads of departments and all academic staff.

The meeting began with evaluations regarding the new academic year. First, in line with the publication targets of our university, the issue of updating databases such as YÖKSİS and UNİS was addressed, and the importance of academic staff uploading their recent publications into the system was emphasized. Subsequently, scientific research and academic incentives were discussed, highlighting the potential for more effective use of incentive mechanisms in publication and project activities.

Information was provided about SOSYALFEST 2025, which will be held this year. It was stated that the event would provide social and academic contributions for both students and academic staff, and the importance of active participation was underlined.
In addition, the 2025–2026 academic calendar was shared, and the period dates were announced. Changes in commission assignments were communicated, and new appointments to the assessment–evaluation and instructional materials commissions were introduced. Certificates of appreciation were presented to academic staff who had served in these commissions in the previous term. The new book series to be used for the first time this term was introduced, and information was provided about pre-class preparation processes, out-of-class support channels, and smart board applications.

Regarding the assessment–evaluation process, it was stated that quizzes would be administered in printed form, the classroom participation rubric had been simplified, and feedback concerning the writing rubric would be taken into consideration. Additionally, it was announced that the supplementary placement and exemption exams would be held on September 15 and 17.

Under administrative matters, reminders were made about leave processes, extension of duty periods, course schedules, use of technical infrastructure, savings measures, and recycling practices.

The meeting concluded after receiving the views and suggestions of the academic staff. Vice Director Dr. Kürşat ARSLAN closed the meeting by thanking all participants.
