
Karabük University School of Foreign Languages organised an academic consultation meeting with the participation of academic staff. At the meeting, School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa POLAT, Vice Directors Dr. Lecturer Kürşat ARSLAN and Lecturer Hüseyin ATASEVEN, Vice Heads of Foreign Language Preparatory Department, Dr. Lecturer Okan DEDE, Lecturer Şakir AŞÇI, and all academic staff took part.
After mentioning the aims of Karabük University Research Support Coordinatorship (ARDEK), School of Foreign Languages Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa POLAT, reminded once again that changes and arrangements will be made in the Directive on Promotion and Appointment to Academic Staff in line with the needs, and asked all academic staff to convey their opinions, suggestions and requests for the draft directive.

The main purpose of the meeting was to evaluate the academic incentive results for 2024 and to explain in detail the ways that academic staff should follow to contribute to academic incentives. School Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa POLAT shared many numerical data such as the distribution of KBU academic incentive scores between 2020-2024, unit and department-based incentive success average, individual-based academic incentive average, the proportion of academic staff receiving 60 points and above, academic incentive score differences between years and the percentage change of these differences, the number of academics receiving academic incentives and the ratio of this number to the number of academics receiving academic incentives.
Underlining that academic staff should be active in academic incentives, POLAT stated that it is possible to achieve results when willing and determined and that he will do his best to support academic staff. In this context, he exemplified the concrete steps to be followed by giving examples of the work required for academic staff to be eligible for academic incentives. After his speech, POLAT, who included the questions, suggestions and requests of the lecturers, ended the meeting by reminding that the contributions and feedbacks of the academic staff regarding the Directive on Promotion and Appointment to Academic Staff are important.
