Director of the School of Foreign Languages Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa POLAT said, “Today we are together with our students in the orientation program before the 2024-2025 Academic Year. Previously, we had given detailed information to all our students in small groups in our classrooms about the functioning of our school. However, we decided to organize this program again, both because of the ongoing registration and because these programs can appeal to a wider audience. We will also have a training content on Fighting against Addiction within the scope of the program. Although our main goal is to provide a globally qualified foreign language education at the School of Foreign Languages, we are also here to protect our students from existing potential dangers. In addition to providing the best education to our students who come to our city, our university and our school, we also have to support them in their preparation for life. I hope they have a successful, productive and peaceful academic year.”
During the orientation program, students were provided with detailed information on important issues such as the academic functioning of the university, course registration processes and exam regulations. In addition, comprehensive information was provided about the social opportunities, student clubs, library, sports facilities and other facilities offered by the university.
In the anti-addiction training, awareness was raised to protect students from harmful habits. In this training, the dangers of addiction, ways of prevention and the importance of a healthy life were emphasized. In addition, students were introduced to the resources they could get support from and were informed about both individual and social responsibilities in the fight against addiction.
